Alison’s here and I’m never giving her back

You’ve seen Alison on the blog before, but only as a result of my trips to Halifax. She’s bound to be a more frequent face around these parts since she’s just moved to Toronto and we (the city) have no intention of ever giving her back to Halifax. She must stay forever! I mean, just look at her.

These were all photographed with the late day sun at the Hanlan’s Point beach at the Toronto Islands. Even though I lugged a good deal of gear with me on the ferry, I ended up using almost none of it. Just the camera, two lenses (50mm f/1.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8), and nothing else!

I guess Alison didn’t find it that cold after all, as she proceeded to take off her bikini top. Not that it was keeping her super warm anyway.

Alison was another model I shot while in Halifax and I was so glad to finally shoot her after an aborted attempt in July to shoot at the beach. Her tall, thin build is definitely meant for fashion (there’s a reason Ford Models in Toronto was chasing after her) but I was happy we got to glam it up a bit in my hotel room. And can you believe she just put on fifteen pounds before our shoot?

Gorgeous beyond words.

The great part about hotels is how nicely furnished they generally are, which make for great sets. This combination wood and leather headboard at the Westin was a perfect contrast for Alison’s white lingerie. Although the lone window in the room was not huge, it provided ample light for these shots, which had no other light source involved.
