From my first trip to Nova Scotia many years ago and the very first time I’d met Christine in person, after talking to her online for over a year. Can’t believe I’ve never posted this here on the blog, as it’s one of my all-time favourite shots.
Photographed in the bathroom of a Dalhousie University student residence. The lighting was ambient — whatever bulbs the bathroom had — I didn’t add anything from my arsenal.
I’ve used Heather Windsor’s studio in Bowmanville, Ontario for the last year as my shooting home. And as any regular reader of this blog knows, Samantha is the one model I’ve photographed more often than any other in that space. So here’s a couple images from our last shoot before the studio was shut down.
I felt that my Night Nudes deserved a home of their own, so I’ve launched NIGHTNUDES.ca. I’ll be adding to this series a lot over the coming months. The photos seemed kind of out of place next to the “smiling girl in her underwear” photos that I post here so often, so now they can live on their own! The site will also serve as the home for a photo book that will be compiled down the road.

Exposures were anywhere between 8-20 seconds in a pitch black studio, lit only by a small LED Maglite.
I’d probably scream too if I was cold and naked in a freight elevator.
